Are you an active student?

In order to enroll in Summer Term courses, you must be an active UNLV student. You are active if you attended UNLV in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, or Spring 2024. Otherwise, you will likely need to apply (or re-apply, if you have attended UNLV in the past) for admission.

Undergraduate Students

Summer enrollment is open to degree and non-degree seeking students. Undergraduate degree seeking students should contact Undergraduate Admissions prior to filing an application.

All degree seeking students, especially freshmen, should meet with an academic advisor from the department in which they plan to major. For a complete list of academic advisors, please visit unlv.edu/advising/centers.

Students who have not declared their major, or are non-degree seeking, should contact the Academic Success Center, (702) 895-3177, to make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor.

Undergraduate students may take no more than 18 credits for the entire Summer Term.
  • Session I: 4 credits
  • Session II: 7 credits
  • Session III: 7 credits

Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid, scholarships, Veterans Administration benefits, or academic advisement.

Students who want to use Summer Term credits in their degree program at other institutions are advised to consult advisors at the university from which they intend to receive their degree.

Graduate Students

The deadline for admission to graduate programs varies with each program. Contact the department of interest for additional information.

Non-degree seeking postbaccalaureate students may complete the Non-Degree Seeking Graduate Student application online. Questions about the Graduate College? Call (702) 895-3320 or visit unlv.edu/graduatecollege.
